Hearings
A Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission hearing is a formal legal proceeding in which a judge, known as a Deputy Commissioner, resolves disputes in a workers’ compensation case. The decision is based on the evidence submitted to the Deputy Commissioner - either at the hearing itself or by a deadline the Deputy Commissioner sets for additional evidence. After the hearing, the Deputy Commissioner issues a written decision addressing the issues in disagreement.
The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission does not charge a fee for holding a hearing.
