[Richmond, VA]- The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission is pleased to announce the opening and relocation of its Virginia Beach Regional Office. The new office is located at 281 Independence Boulevard, Suite 310, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

“The Commission’s new Virginia Beach office supports current and future planned capacity for hearings and mediations. The new space will allow us to hold additional hearings each month and support the demand and growth of our Alternative Dispute Resolution program,” Chairman Wesley G. Marshall said. “The Commission is excited about the more efficient services we will provide and this move represents a commitment to our customers as we faithfully execute the duties entrusted to us by the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

The relocation will allow the Commission to have contiguous space, dedicated mediation space and additional attorney conference rooms. The new office also complies with state requirements for office and courthouse construction.

The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission (VWC), established in 1918, is an independent judicial and administrative state agency which oversees the workers’ compensation system for employees, employers, and insurers. VWC interprets and applies the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act and resolves claims through hearings and mediation.
