Erin Bishop Named Supervisor of ADR Department

[Richmond, VA]- The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission is pleased to announce Erin Bishop has joined the agency as Supervisor of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Department. Erin joined the Commission staff on November 10, 2016.

As the ADR Supervisor, Erin assumes a leadership role for the Commission’s key mediation initiative. She will lead the ADR Department’s support staff in accordance with the Ethical Guidelines of Virginia Supreme Court Certified Mediators and the Commission’s Code of Ethics policies. She also will oversee general business operations for this award winning department. In September 2016 the ADR Department received the Innovator’s Award from the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions.

Erin brings strong value to the ADR Department within her expertise as a Virginia Supreme Court Certified Mediator and a member of the Virginia Mediation Network. Prior to joining the Commission, Erin worked at the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia as a Dispute Resolution Specialist in the Consumer Protection Section. In that role she assisted citizens and businesses in resolving consumer transaction disputes and enforcing the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.

Erin attended George Mason University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Conflict Transformation and a Minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She earned her Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason.

The Commission is pleased to announce and welcome Erin as its new Supervisor of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Department.
