Expedited Hearing Docket

The 2002 General Assembly issued a mandate directing the Commission to institute an expedited calendar for the administration of claims under the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act in which the employer's denial of benefits, after initial compensability has been established, will cause an injured employee to incur severe economic hardship. The expedited hearing docket is effective as of July 1, 2003. The rules regarding the expedited hearing docket, 16VAC30-50-30, Rule 2.3, are available here. The form to request an expedited hearing is available on this website and at all Commission offices. Expedited hearings will be conducted at our usual hearing sites.
